In Brighton, every square metre matters. On this compact suburban lot, the clients wanted a home that worked for daily family life, entertaining, and outdoor play — all while feeling contemporary and cohesive. From the interiors to the landscape, every element needed to support practical living without compromising on style.
Built-in side seating along the yard, creating a functional and inviting space for entertaining and everyday family life.
With the architectural plans complete, the challenge was not structural, but relational.
The clients were faced with an overwhelming number of decisions across interiors, exteriors, and outdoor spaces — all needing to work together on a compact suburban site. The home needed to support family life and entertaining, maximise limited outdoor space for children to play, and integrate practical elements such as pool equipment without visual or acoustic disruption.
The task was to resolve these layers into a cohesive whole — refining, connecting, and elevating the design so that every decision contributed to flow, function, and unity throughout the home.
Ensuite bathroom finishes with natural light illuminating the materials, creating a serene and considered space.
Curved entertainment unit softens the interior’s straight lines while concealing technology and storage for a clean, contemporary look.
Soft daylight highlights the plinth and joinery in the living space.
Powder room materials and lighting combine stone, marble, and timber for a warm, contemporary, and clean aesthetic.
Working closely with the clients throughout the build process, we guided the interior and landscape design with clarity and intention.
Joinery for the kitchen, laundry, and entertainment unit was carefully detailed to support daily use, storage, and furniture placement, while maintaining a clean, contemporary aesthetic. Material and finish selections — including floorboards, veneer laminates, wall colours, and exterior colours — were coordinated across the home to create visual continuity and calm.
Decorative lighting was selected throughout to balance atmosphere with practical task lighting, ensuring the home feels warm and considered at all times of day.
Outdoors, the compact yard was designed to work hard. Landscape planning prioritised space for children’s play and family entertaining, while custom seating was integrated along the side of the house. Pool equipment was discreetly housed underground beneath a bespoke lift-up pool seat — keeping it out of sight, reducing noise, and allowing easy access when required.
Every decision was made with the same objective: to support how the family lives, moves, and gathers — both inside and out.
Plinth at the base of the entertainment unit, carefully detailed so the sheer curtain sits neatly behind it for a seamless, refined finish.
The Brighton residence is a home that works as beautifully as it looks. Interiors flow seamlessly, joinery is both elegant and practical, outdoor areas are playful yet refined, and even hidden technical systems are thoughtfully resolved.
It is a space that supports family life, entertaining, and everyday moments, all while maintaining a strong, modern aesthetic that feels intentional and cohesive.
